Healthcare Battle, It Is About Power

On Monday Barack Obama, speaking on healthcare reform at a Washington hospital, said "This isn't about me. This isn't about politics. This is about a health care system that is breaking America's families, breaking America's businesses, and breaking America's economy". If President Obama believes this he is not listening to the American people, a majority of whom do not support the President's handling of health care. So why push this agenda through congress so quickly? Because this is about power not healthcare, it is about power.
The Democrats have looked for this power grab for years. When the American people saw the Hillary Clinton plan during the Clinton administration there was a revolt. That fiasco plan was a major contributing factor to the Gingrich revolution and the mass removal of Democrats in 1994. So how is it different this time around? Easy, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are pushing a vote on a bill before it is even written.
Hillary Clinton provided a detailed written plan that the American people could see before a vote was taken, and the American people were outraged. Not so this time around. The Congress is voting on a bill that is not written, so no one knows what will be in the bill that they support. Does anyone thinks that Pelosi is beyond lying to the members of her on party to get a vote and then have anything that she wants in the bill. Of course she isn't. She has already done so on the stimulus, that provided no stimulus, bill. This is not about healthcare, this is a democratic socialist power grab, and it will break our economy. The fact is the healthcare system in America works. There are improvements that could be made, but that would happen if the governments hand was not already in the game with Medicare.
The free market would fix this problem. In a discussion with my own family doctor on this matter, he told me that he wished that he could take his three hundred patients, charge them $1,000.00 a year and provide them with unlimited visits provided that no one files insurance. That way he could operate his office with himself, one LPN and one CNA, with the possibility of a part time RN. For $85.00 a month, his patients would spend less on healthcare and he would make more for his services because of what he loses in filing fees and caps placed on services by insurance and Medicare. Medicare was his biggest culprit.
I am "the American people". I go to a job every day and work to provide for my wife and son. I am not a millionaire and I am not being "kept" by the welfare system like a cheap mistress. I am middle class with a car payment and a mortgage, and I like my health insurance and want Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid to keep their hands off of it. When the President says "It is not about me" he is lying to the American people and if Congress goes along with this lie, they will suffer the wrath of the Americans, like me, when this unwritten bill sees the light of day.
